This rosary is inspired by St. John the Apostle, the writer of the fourth Gospel, several letters, and the Book of Revelation. John was entrusted as the caretaker of the Blessed Virgin Mary at the crucifixion and was one of the first to run to the tomb on Easter Sunday. This rosary incorporates the colors often attributed to him in icons- an aqua blue and amethyst purple. The centerpiece is of the Sacred Heart- calling to mind the Last Supper when John reclined his head against the breast of Jesus- being the one of the first to listen to the promptings of the Sacred Heart. The Sorrowful Mother crucifix recalls that John stood with Mary at the Cross and heard these words addressed to him: “Behold your Mother.” (Jn 19:27) The rosary is completed with a St. John the Apostle medal.
