To our customers,
We would like all of you to know that due to the pandemic and local restrictions which are ever changing, we have decided to limit the number of our visits to the post office to once a week, typically on Saturday. We are committed to getting your orders to you on time and are working to keep up with the very large number of orders that have come in so far since the pandemic began. So far, we are up to date.
We would like to let our repair customers know that we are trying hard to find replacement parts for their rosaries from the large collection of donations that we have received. Some rosaries are more unique and it has been difficult to find matching beads with bead stores and suppliers being limited in their hours or in some places closed for quite some time. We ask for patience as we keep working on finding the best parts for your rosaries.
If you have any questions about your orders, please email firstname.lastname@example.org. We thank you for your patience in this difficult time and look forward to continuing to serve your rosary needs.
In Christ through Mary,
Brad and Ciera Geist
We wanted to ask everyone to please take note of Benedict’s Beads new address: 8650 NE Sam Ray Road, Kansas City, MO 64156. Do not send any repairs or donations to the Raytown address: we are no longer located there and the post office has been failing to forward our business mail. For the safety of your rosaries, please be sure to double check the address before sending them out, as we will be unable to retrieve your package if sent to the incorrect address.
Don’t forget to follow our blog so you don’t miss out on important Benedict’s Beads updates and news!
As mentioned in our previous blog post, Ciera and I are getting ready to get married and with that comes a new address where we will begin our married life and, consequently, where we will be moving the business. The new address is
C/O Brad Geist
8650 NE Sam Ray Road
Kansas City, MO 64156
If you have sent us a package to our old address in the last few days, please do not panic! We still have a month of rent left with that house and will be checking the mail every week or two. We are also having our mail forwarded as well. But please send any new packages with your rosary repairs, ladderizations, or donations to the address above. Thank you!
In Christ through Mary,
Brad Geist and Ciera Peterson
As Ciera and I approach our wedding day in a little more than a month, we are anticipating some scheduling changes that will affect our work with Benedict’s Beads. As some of you may know, it is just the two of us spending our evenings and weekends to provide you with beautiful ladder rosaries. With this on top of marriage preparation, moving into a new home, and our full time jobs – it is going to be difficult to keep our sanity here in our last months before married life! This hard truth leads us to the difficult decision that some of the time we delegate to Benedict’s Beads is needed more in other aspects of our lives at the moment. We will still strive to continue to work on your orders/repairs as we are able, but please expect the following delays as we prepare ourselves for the Sacrament of Marriage:
- Orders/repairs placed before May 12th, 2019 will be completed in a timely manner and will be mailed out as soon as possible.
- Orders/repairs placed after May 12th, 2019 will likely be delayed and will be worked on at the discretion of the rosary makers throughout the remaining weeks of May and the full month of June. The closer we get to our wedding day, the less time we will be able to delegate to Benedict’s Beads, so all orders/repairs will be first come, first serve. Responses to emails may also be delayed during this time. Should you choose rush ordering at this time, your position in our order queue will be bumped forward, but we cannot guarantee when orders will be completed until after July 1st.
- Regular operation will resume July 1st, 2019!
We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience during this busy time. We are so grateful for you, our customers, and are looking forward to continuing to serve you by providing high quality work! As always, thank you for choosing Benedict’s Beads!
In Christ through Mary,
We are now approaching that time of year when many young Catholics will be receiving our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament for the very first time. What a beautiful time it is! Our Church family comes together to celebrate with the joyful First Communicants, oftentimes presenting them with gifts to help them remember their special day. Here at Benedict’s Beads, we’ve worked on many beautiful rosaries that our customers received at their First Holy Communion, some rosaries having even been passed down from generation to generation. We believe that a beautiful, high-quality rosary is the perfect First Communion gift. As Mary is present at every celebration of the Eucharist, is it not fitting to also call to mind our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament when praying to His mother in the rosary? What better way to do this than to pray with the rosary that was given to you on the day that you first received Jesus in the Eucharist? We offer stunning First Communion ladder rosaries that are guaranteed to last a lifetime of prayerful use. Why not make your loved-one’s First Communion even more memorable by gifting them with a Benedict’s Beads First Communion rosary?
Starting new this year we will be offering rare, one-of-a-kind special edition rosaries on our Etsy store. These will be made from the stunning and unique beads that we have received from donations or that we have picked up when we’ve spent a little too much time in the craft store! From shimmering Czech glass to lustrous freshwater pearls, you never know what amazing finds we’ll have to offer. Due to the rarity of these beads, only a couple rosaries will be offered in these styles, so don’t miss out! Be sure to favorite our Etsy page to stay up to date on our latest special edition rosaries. And don’t forget to check back to our website to see our classic collections, with new items being added frequently!
1. We’re now an LLC!
At the end of January, I registered Benedict’s Beads as an official Single-member Limited Liability Company, giving Benedict’s Beads the ability to have its own bank accounts and hire employees. I am very excited for the direction that this business is headed. I didn’t think when I started this business 6 years ago that I would ever reach this step. It’s a very exciting but busy time for Benedict’s Beads!
2. We’ve revamped the Rosary Studio
With a new business came the need for a better and more spacious work space. So after a couple of trips to Ikea, I was able to get most of the furniture needed. Tables, cabinets, and other storage helps to ensure that Benedict’s Beads is able to run quickly and efficiently.
3. We’re adding to our Etsy Store
Up until a few weeks ago, our Etsy store was not worth looking at, but I’ve now added a large number of new listings and will continue to add more as time goes on. If you enjoy shopping on Etsy, you will find most of our pre-designed rosaries and chaplets, as well as ready to order rosaries there. We’ve also added the storefront to our Facebook page. You can see our etsy store by clicking here.
4. We’ve added new forms to the website
We’ve now updated our ordering forms for Ladderizations and Tenner Rosaries so that you can now order these directly without having to contact us. We will continue to add new ordering forms for the rest of the rosaries and chaplets in the coming month.
5. We’re about to hire a new employee!
With the increase in business and marketing (not to mention the large influx of rosary repair requests and orders), we are going to be hiring a new employee. We will be introducing her at a later time. Check back in the next couple of weeks for news!
You can now purchase rosary bracelets by going to our drop down tab under Rosaries and selecting rosary bracelets. Additionally, we now have an Etsy store as well, though it is in its infancy. You can visit the store at www.etsy.com/shop/benedictsbeads. We hope you enjoy your shopping experience, and please keep us updated on any bugs you may encounter. We hope to make it as smooth as possible.
As you know, we’re in a major transition and trying to get our business back up and running. I am pleased to let you know that we now have payment forms up for three types of rosaries- Build A Rosary, Mini-Rosaries, and Wedding Rosaries. Please visit these pages to place your order for these type of rosaries. I am also happy to say that for these forms, you can now order up to 3 rosaries at a time through the same form. We are working on getting the other forms up too and we ask for you patience as these come about. Please, if you would like to order a rosary for a form that is not already up, contact us at email@example.com.
To make it easier for those who don’t know the prices, we have set up a page simply listing the prices of our rosaries which can be found here.
To my esteemed customers,
As I have posted on my other blog, The Slave of the Immaculate, I have requested a dispensation from my vows and will be returning to lay life.
This, of course, has implications for Benedict’s Beads. As some of you may know, I brought this rosary business to St. Benedict’s Abbey as Mediatrix Rosaries and rechristened it Benedict’s Beads. The Abbey has graciously agreed to let me keep the business and the name, since I was the only monk to make and sell the rosaries. You can therefore be assured of the same quality of craftsmanship and care for any rosaries sold as well as a commitment to excellence in all things for the glory of Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and St. Benedict.
The Abbey has agreed to allow me to offer the Abbey rosary, with an exciting new centerpiece that I will unveil soon. A percentage of the proceeds from the Abbey Rosary will go to support St. Benedict’s Abbey. I will let you all know details as I discuss them with Fr. Maurice, the business manager.
I will be updating the website to reflect the new changes and, once I have registered the business with the state, will resume full, uninterrupted business. I appreciate your patience. I am still accepting timely orders by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please do not hesitate if you need a rosary soon!
Please keep me in your prayers as I begin this new step of my life and sort out all the details of this transition.
In Christ through Mary,
Br. Benedict Mary, soon to be Brad, Geist
